Summary of changes
With recent changes to the provincial COVID-19 testing guidelines, we are updating our guidelines for asymptomatic screening for COVID-19. This update no longer recommends asymptomatic screening requirements for fully vaccinated individuals in categories listed below. The table below summarizes testing and isolation requirements for each group. Asymptomatic testing outside of these groups is not recommended, unless otherwise advised by IPAC.

Maintain precautions for 14 days following last exposure.
*Testing not required if previously positive for COVID-19 within past 90 days, or if patient has had a negative COVID-19 test within the past 24 hours.
Process for swabbing
Place an order for “COVID-19 (Allplex)”, specifying that the current status of the patient is Asymptomatic, and under Order Comments, please indicate the reason for screening, in order to aid communication to other departments.
